The Endless Fight

My littlest brother, Dylan, has this weird idea that MY cat simba (the orange one with the sunglasses on the side photo) is his. I have no idea where he got the idea that he was his he just came into my room one day and said "Simba is my cat" then he simply walked out. i sat in my bed kind of wondering what had just happened for a good while before i walked out and started to tell him that he was mine. i had declared this fat orange cat mine the day we found him in the backyard of our old house. He has been my cat ever since then and that was 2 years ago. So i honestly don't know why out of the blew he decided that simba was going to be his cat. i mean, simba sleeps in my room most of the time and when i say most i mean 6 days out of the week. he always follows me around the house and sometimes even when i go outside. which brings up another story. A couple of weeks ago Dylan took simba outside and i told him he better watch him closely or he would run off and i would have to find him. sure enough, as soon as i walk in he runs off to play with his friends and leaves simba all alone. about 10minutes later when i asked Dylan where he was he looked at me and said oops i left him outside. i got so mad but the first thing i did was run outside to find him while Dylan just stayed inside watching TV. i looked for that cat for at least 30 minutes before i found him under the house. so I've come to the conclusion that if simba was Dylan's cat wouldn't he have been the one looking for him, wouldn't he have been crawling under the house dodging cat poop and spider webs? so in my opinion, Dylan is just a lover and not anywhere near an owner of MY cat. This has been an ongoing fight for over 3 weeks now. I could safely say its been going on for at least 1 month...which is kind of sad. This will probably be an ongoing fight till Dylan finds something else that isn't his but he will insist it is to whoever the real owner is. i just find this all a little funny because I'm sure he knows what hes doing, saying that something is his when he knows its not. He knows it aggravates people, He just wont let it go until he either makes you give up what ever it is he wants to him or until he loses all interest in it and leaves it behind. really though, what do you expect from a little boy who happens to be the baby of the family? (and is still treated as the baby...because he still acts like a baby)

Maybe you should make it a vote as to who the owner is: I say you, Chelsea. You made some VERY valid points. And if Dylan still disagrees, then maybe I would even say it's your mom's cat. Oh no I hope I didn't just start something! LOL

You know I love Dylan but I have always believed you can't choose the cat - the cat has to choose you. So...if he is sleeping in your room, following you around, etc. I think that means you've been chosen! Luckily, since it was Simba's decision, you have nothing to prove. Just let Dylan think the cat is his - but secretly you and Simba will know the truth=)

Dear Chelsea,
Dylan is my freind too but Simba is your cat, and Dylan knows that. I'm sure he is just going through a phase and will get bored and move on to something else soon. I know how it is to have a younger sibling who is babied all the time.

Chelsea-
I feel your pain. Siblings are like that. and i agree with u,
Simba is YOUR cat. He follows u
everywhere, and by the looks of it you treat him better than Dylan does! ;)

Chelsea, Dylan is a good friend of mine, but I have to say that Simba is your cat too. I was thinking about choosing you Dylan but why did you leave him alone outside???? Maybe I'll change my mind.
